How long does a bathroom renovation take? A full bathroom renovation in a typical Berlin Altbau apartment usually takes around four weeks: one week for demolition, one for plumbing and technical work, one for reconstruction (drywall, insulation, floor preparation), and one for tiling and finishing. Each project is different, but this is a realistic timeframe for a complete refurbishment.
Can I use the bathroom during the renovation? It depends on the stage of the work. Shower use is usually not possible during demolition and installation days. Toilet access is typically not available during the final week.
Will the apartment become very dusty? We carefully protect floors and surfaces and seal work areas as much as possible. Some dust may appear in the corridor during demolition, but we aim to keep disruption to a minimum.
Will water be available during the renovation? Yes. Apart from short interruptions during plumbing work, water in the kitchen usually remains available.
Do I need to contact the property manager? No, all work is carried out inside the apartment. If coordination with the building management is required, we inform you in advance and assist with communication.
Is the renovation work very noisy? The loudest phase is usually the first week during demolition. After that, noise levels are significantly lower.
Do you provide design advice? Yes. We support clients at every stage of the renovation. The more information and inspiration you share, the better we can plan your project.
What about tiles and fittings? We can recommend reliable suppliers in Berlin and advise you on materials, fittings, walk-in showers or bathtubs. We install all standard systems and help you choose the right solution for your budget and design.
